概要
生物多様性ユースレポーターは、地域での生物多様性保全や環境活動を実施するユース団体の方に「生物多様性ユースレポーター」を担っていただき、ユースによる地域に根付いた生物多様性保全に関する取組や優良事例の可視化を試みた取組です。また、各地域の自然情報や地域に根付いたユースの活動の発信を効果的に行うことで、生物多様性などに興味関心がない一般市民や同世代のユースの関心を高め、「生物多様性ユースレポーター」同士のネットワークを構築し、ユース特有の悩みである情報不足、ネットワーク不足の課題を解消することを目的としています。生物多様性ユースレポーターには、定期的にSNSを用いて情報発信を行ってもらったり、YouTubeチャンネルにてインタビューに出演していただく予定です。
Biodiversity Youth Reporter is an initiative that attempts to visualize the efforts and good practices of youth in biodiversity conservation that are rooted in the community by having youth organizations serve as “Biodiversity Youth Reporters”. The aim is to raise the interest of the general public as well as youth of the same generation who are not interested in biodiversity by effectively disseminating information on nature in each region and the activities of youth rooted in the region. As we transmit information, we aim to build a network among “Biodiversity Youth Reporters,” to resolve the lack of information and network, which are problems unique to youth. Biodiversity Youth Reporters will be asked to regularly disseminate information using social networking services and to answer in interviews on our YouTube channel.
2021年度ユースレポーター
琉球大学エコロジカル・キャンパス学生委員会
学内では「琉大エコキャン」の名で親しまれており、活動目的は、①学内の環境に配慮した取り組みを知り、身近な環境への関心を高めること②環境問題の多面性を理解し、具体的な行動に移すことが出来るようになること③より快適なキャンパスライフを目指し、学生の主体的で自由な発想に基づいて行動すること、の3点としている。
これらの活動目的を達成するため、琉大エコキャンでは、ビーチクリーンやキャンパスクリーンなどの清掃活動や、キャンパスエコツアー、リ・リパックの回収、ペットボトルキャップの回収といった大学の学生全体を巻き込んだ活動もしている。中でも、リ・リパックやペットボトルキャップの回収は外部の団体や企業と連携して実施しており、琉大エコキャンの環境保全活動はキャンパス内にとどまらず、大学外でも幅広く活動を行っている。
Ecological Campus Student Committee of the University of the Ryukyus
Known on campus as “Ryu-Dai Eco-Can,” the purpose of the group’s activities is threefold: 1) to learn about environmentally friendly initiatives on campus and increase interest in the environment around us, 2) to understand the many aspects of environmental issues and be able to take concrete action, (3) to act based on students’ independent and free conception for a more comfortable campus life.
In order to achieve these activity objectives, the Ryu-Dai Eco-Can also engages in cleanup activities such as beach cleanups and campus cleanups, as well as activities involving the entire university student body such as campus eco-tours, Re-Repack collection, and PET bottle cap collection. In particular, the collection of Re-Repacks and PET bottle caps is conducted in cooperation with outside organizations and companies, showing how the environmental conservation activities of Ryu-Dai Eco-Can are not limited to the campus, but extend to a wide range of activities outside the university.
Lastly, Ryu-Dai Eco-Can consists of students from freshman to seniors from different faculties. Utilizing unique perspectives and mobility as university students, Ryu-Dai Eco-Can aims to continue to act upon environmental conservation both inside and outside of university as they come up with original ideas beyond faculty separation.
GAIA(Getting Associate Into Action)
2020年、愛知県が「SDGs未来都市」に選定されたことをきっかけにユースの活動を促進していくために愛知県の支援の下、結成。大学生や専門学生を中心に、高校生から社会人まで、幅広いユース世代のメンバー約70名が参加している。次世代を担うユースが中心となり、「生物多様性の輪を広げていく」ことを目指し、多様な主体と連携しながら保全活動と情報発信を軸に愛知県内各地で活動している。
GAIAは、様々な主体が連携して生物多様性保全の活動を県内9地域で展開する「生態系ネットワーク」と連携し、企業やNPO等が関わる保全活動に体験参加しながら、生物多様性の現状や課題について学び、課題解決の方法について検討している。具体的には、海浜清掃、植樹、植生調査及び外来植物の駆除、野鳥観察、稲刈り、竹林整備などの活動をしてきた。また、これらの活動での学びを踏まえ、若者ならではのアイデアでユース主体の保全活動を企画し、よりユースが生物多様性保全を先導していけるよう心掛けている。
As Aichi Prefecture was selected as an “SDGs Future City” in 2020, with the support of Aichi Prefecture, GAIA formed to promote youth activities. Approximately 70 members of a wide range of youth ages, from high school students to working adults, university students and vocational students, are participating in GAIA. Led by the youth who will lead the next generation, GAIA aims to “expand the circle of biodiversity” and is active in various parts of Aichi Prefecture, focusing on conservation activities and information dissemination as they cooperate with various entities.
GAIA works with the “Ecosystem Network,” which is a network of various entities working together to promote biodiversity conservation activities in nine regions in the prefecture. Specifically, they have engaged in beach cleanups, tree planting, vegetation surveys as well as extermination of invasive alien plants, bird watching, rice harvesting, bamboo forest maintenance, and other activities. Based on what they have learned through these activities, they are planning youth-led conservation activities based on ideas that only young people can come up with, and are striving to help youth take the lead in biodiversity conservation.
